Reception Sneak Peek

Don't forget to enter my Cricut Machine giveaway! Click here to win!

I am still working on the post about my brother's Reception. I was put in charge of all the decorations. With an extremely tight budget I knew exactly what to do. We hit the garage sales!  Here are a few sneak peek pictures to get you excited for the rest of the post.

This is a .25 cents frame from a garage sale.

Our center piece boxes were made from pallet boards so they were FREE!!! The votives were pick up at a garage sale. I found 58 of them for $5 dollars!!!! Thats less than .10 cents a piece!

We made all the bows for the end of the table runner.

This is a frame collage of the Bride and Groom. All the frames so this collage we found at a garage sale. There were a total of 32 frames bought for $10 dollars! That's just over .30 cents a frame!

How cute is this! My sister bought this old typewriter off ebay and typed the bride and grooms names on it.

The white picture frame... shutter thing...(not sure what else to call it) was bought at a garage sale for $15 dollars and the scones on each side were $4 dollars a piece at a friends garage sale.

This frame was bought at a garage sale for $1! I lined it with cardboard and cover it with burlap and lace so we could hang some pictures of the bride and groom on it.

We also did a mason jar ceiling. Mason jars are so popular right now but PLEASE do not buy them from the store! We found all our mason jars at garage sales and paid about .10 cents a piece for them. We used about 50 mason jars for this ceiling. That means our total cost was $5 dollars!

I will have pictures from the rest of the reception up soon with a break down to let you know how much we sent. Just because you have a poor mans budget doesn't mean you have to have a poor man's wedding! I will show you how it can be done!

  2. Those look amazing! I'm so jealous of that first frame, I've been desperately searching for ornate frames at Goodwill and I've not found anything that pretty!

    1. I search around at D.I. too but never find anything. I think you might have more luck at garage sales since they don't get as much traffic as second hand stores do.

    1. Thank you Lindsey! A lot of the decor went to the Bride and Groom to help decorate their house. Lucky them huh?!

  4. If I ever get married again (not!), will you do my reception? This is so much better than the expensive kind. You got a great deal on the votives and frames.

  6. I love all the decorations! But the mason jar candle holders hanging from the ceiling just tops it off! I have some plans for mason jars myself. Gotta love the variety of things you can do with them. AND, they are so durable! Now, that's what I'm talkin' about!!!
