May 12th 2012

Here is what I found this week that you men out there might like!
These snowboarding goggles were a few bucks a piece. A few of these were Oakley brand. I found these Oakley goggles on online at Oakley.com for $35!
More waders for $10. If you remember last time I posted about these a cheap set of these will run you $100 dollars!
Kayak for $350. It also also comes with the helmet paddle and skirt.
Here are a bunch of binoculars I couldn't get any closer to these cause all the men were looking at them but the guy wanted between $30 and $50 dollars for these. I am not sure what brands they are either so I can't really compare a price. C.J. said that $30-$50 was a little high for a garage sale but better than buying them in the store.
Knives for $5 dollars a piece

Here is another spotting scope. The seller had two of these and wanted $125 a piece.
Here it is from further away. Sorry for the bad picture. If you remember from the last post  I did about spotting scopes these were between 2 and 3 hundred dollars!

Hello everyone! Not sure if you noticed but we are growing quickly. We have gained quite a few members this past week and I am LOVING it! As we continue to grow I will start implementing more FUN into the blog. I plan to do this by starting with some guest bloggers so that you can see some of the awesome and amazing blogs there are out there. I am so excited to introduce all of you readers to our very first guest blogger Crystal. Crystal is such a sweet girl and I have really loved working with her. So without further ado, meet Crystal.

Hey there Garage Sales R Us readers! I'm Crystal from over at a time 4 everything.

I blog a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Fashion, jewelry, nails, recipes, diy, randomness.
In true Garage Sales R Us fashion, thought I'd share with you all a table redo. When I bought my house the previous owner left a kitchen table and two chairs. There is a built-in bench in the kitchen and this table seemed to fit the space well, but...
The table that was left, looked like this

and the chairs

Not real pretty. Glad there was a table, but I just can't have this.

So I drug it out onto my deck (all by myself I might add, I'm sure the neighbors were entertained) busted out the tiles and sanded lightly.

Spray painted the chairs and table with black paint.

Re-grouted and re-tiled the top.

See that tail there at the bottom right of the picture, that's one of my kitty babies. They are in the blog too.

It's amazing what you can do with an old, somewhat messed up piece to make it usable again.

Hope you enjoyed my share. Thanks to Garage Sales R Us for letting me take over this lovely blog for a little bit.

Kids Corner

Ok all you mom's out there! Dressing your kids does not have to be expensive! This section of the blog is called Kid's Corner where I show you how cheap you can find kids clothes all while still dressing them as cute as can be!

Here is my daughter Jaysa
Her top I found for $1 dollar at a garage sale! Her teal Oshkosh jeans were bought at Savers for $2.99.  Her total outfit cost is $4 dollars. Her DPWF is .40 cents!
Here is my nephew Camden. I found this little outfit while garage saleing and couldn't pass it up! His little vest was .50 cents. The matching shorts were another .50 cents. His total outfit cost is $1! His DPWF is .10 cents!

This is my other daughter Paisley. I loved this outfit on her and she was in such a good mood that this turned into a mini photo session.
Her white top was bought at a garage sale and was still on the hanger with tags on it! I paid $1 dollar for it! Her khaki corduroy skirt was $1 at garage sale and her little shoes were give to me by a Sister-in-law so they were FREE! You can't beat cute hand me downs! Even her little green flower bow was bought at a garage sale for .25 cents! I bought it as a stemmed flower. Pulled off the stem and made it into a bow! Paisley's Total outfit cost is $2.25 Her DPWF is .22 cents!

Love this little girl and all her silly faces!

I am linking up to this fantastic blog hop called Mom's Monday Mingle at Nap time review

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing mom's out there!
Here is one of my favorite pictures of my mom and I. This was on my wedding day almost 6 years ago. As you may have already noticed I talked about my mom a lot on this blog. She is the rock in my life, the women I go to when I need advice, the friend that knows EVERYTHING there is to know about me yet still loves you me for who I am. I am so grateful to have her in my life and hope that I can be as good of a mother to my children as she has been to me.
Being a Mother is one of the most difficult yet most rewarding jobs I have ever taken on. As hard as we may try to prepare ourselves for motherhood I am not quite sure if anyone can really prepare themselves for all the loads of laundry, the spilt messes, poopy diapers, snotty noses and tears of a child. Here is a quote that my daughter brought home from her church nursery class on a little piece of construction paper with her cute little hand print on it.

"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will, to your surprise, miss them profoundly.
Thomas S. Monson

I know that at times the duties of motherhood can become incredibly overwhelming but remember
When the pain is almost too much to handle

When the mess is too much to undertake,

when moments don't turn out as planned
and when perceptions give way to reality

motherhood is one of the greatest gifts a women can experience on this earth. Be grateful for those little hands that are so willing to give hugs, for that dirty face that wants to give you a kiss, that crooked smile that shows it's self when a mess is made and that little boy or girl that will always love you no matter how mad you get. Despite the difficulty of your situation and the degree of your tiredness remember to savor the special moments, try to find the humor in the not so special ones and enjoy the stage you and your children are in. Life fly's by fast and there will come a day that you will miss those moments

I hope that all of you Mother's out there have had an amazing day filled with lots of hugs and kisses from your kids and husband. I hope you have been spoiled rotten with gifts and words of gratitude.
