Whenever I go out with the hubster or friends I take a camera and have them shoot a few quick pictures of my outfit. This makes preparing for my fashion posts much easier and more fun.
I had the lucky opportunity to have a staycation with some long lost friends last week. We left the kids at home with the husbands and went out shopping, garage saleing and filled our bellies with the best food in town. We also had some fun with my camera.
Meet my cousin, Heidi (middle) and Jenny. These girls are some of my best friends. We all played soccer together at Dixie State. Today we are all moms of multiple crazy children but that never stops us from having some fun and acting like our old mischevious selves.
These girls mean so much to me. College was a blast because of them. As most people do when they see loved ones they haven't seen in a long time, we played the "Remember When" game all weekend. Let me tell you a little story about each of these girls.
I know it doesn't look like it BUT Jenny and I are pretty forgetful and can be pretty "Blonde" at times. One time I was late for class and was in such a hurry to get to class that after parking my car I actually forgot to take my key out of the ignition...oops... So I went to class and without realizing it left my car running. (Thats not the blonde part) So then while I am in class, Jenny comes strolling along and sees that my car is running. She has this really funny idea and decides to move my car to the other side of the parking lot. HA! Such a great prank and well deserved on my part however, she did one really, even more blonde thing than I did. She parked my car and left it running!!!!!! Of course I come out of class and can't find my car anywhere and start to freakout that it has been stolen. (It's a miracle it wasn't!) After walking in circles for about ten minutes around the area of the parking lot where I KNEW I parked my car, I stopped, looked down at my feet and thought to myself, I am absolutely crazy. Not knowing what else to do I opened my phone to call the cops to report my stolen car. At the same moment my thumb reached for the nine, Jenny's number popped up on my phone. She giggled as she told me how she found my car running and decided to move it. We laughed together as she directed me to my new parking space but all laughs ceased when I realized my car was still running.
Me: "Why is my car still running?"
Jenny: "Remember I told you I found it like that, you must have left it that way when you went to class"
Me: "And you didn't think it would be a good idea to turn it off?...wait...You MOVED it and LEFT it RUNNING?!?!?" - We laugh about it all the time now and this has turned out to be one of my favorite stories about this girl.
Now Mrs. Heidi has been there for me through thick and thin since my college years. We actually did not know we were cousins till I brought her home to my parents house one weekend. After talking to my dad for a little while we discovered a little family connection. Turns out our grandmothers are sisters!!!! Her grandmother actually stood in for my grandmother at my wedding since she passed away when I was a little girl. Heidi was my right hand man. She was there through wild college nights, soccer suspensions due to unapproved parties, endless last minute study sessions and all the crazy boyfriends we had. She was also a permanent fixture to the back of my motorcycle which was rode around town in soccer shorts, tank tops and flip flops all year long.
I have some great memories of both of these girls. And OF COURSE, we had to take some goofy pictures for old times sake!
