Hi friends of Robin & Garage Sales R Us!!!!
My name is Kelly and I blog over at The Houtz House Party. I am a mama of 4 littles age 3 and under (yep there IS a set of twins in there)!
I blog about the ins and outs of our daily crazy along with recipes, craft projects and faith reflections.
I am a new crafty gal so I am stoked to be sharing a canvas names tutorial today!
I made these as Mother’s Day gifts for my mom and J’s (the husband) mom with each of the grandkids names on them.
What you need:
A blank canvas (I used 8x10)
Mod Modge
Sponge brush
Tea bag
Food scraper like the one from Pampered Chef that comes with your baking stones (you know the one I'm talking about right?)
Spray sealer (optional)
What you do:
Next Print your art.
Lightly paint your blank canvas with mod podge and center your art on it.
Press down and lightly go over the art covered canvas with your food scraper like device (nice description I know!) kind of like you are working with wall paper. I did this on both sides of the canvas to smooth out the wrinkles.
Let dry overnight.
Lightly paint your art covered canvas with more Mod Podge and fold and secure the edges that overlap with Mod Podge. The edges may resemble a wrapped Christmas present.
Let that dry overnight.
Brew some tea. I just happened to have some Gingerbread but whatever you have will work I’m sure.
Dry the teabag on some paper towels.
Blot and/or drag (whatever look you prefer) the teabag over the art to make it look aged.
I did NOT spray mine with sealer because I forgot to pick some up at the store BUT you definitely could spray the dried art piece with sealer to finish it off.
This is a super easy cute little project that might be just the perfect personalized gift for a loved one.
Thanks so much Robin for having me today!!!
